- [Instructor] OSs have come a long way since their humble beginnings. The original OS concept of sharing centralized computing resources through mainframes is making a comeback in the form of cloud computing these days. We are also increasingly dependent on mobile devices which, currently, have their own specialized OSs such as iOS and Android. A potential path for the future is the consolidation of all these customized OSs into a universal system that blurs the boundaries. Cloud computing enables these conversions by allowing users to jump from one device to another without worrying about copying files between them Your information is always in sync through the cloud storage solutions such as OneDrive, as shown here.
