Create an FTP repository
- [Narrator] In an enterprise environment installing from the local network can have a lot of advantages over burning DVDs or creating USB thumb drives. As all installation files can be held on a local server and installed from there. In this lesson we'll install and configure FTP services on our virtualization host computer for the purpose of setting up an FTP software repository. In a terminal type in sudo yum install -y vsftpd and hit enter. Once VSFTPD is installed let's create a new FTP files directory. First we'll type in clear and then we'll type in sudo mkdir /var/ftp/pub/el7 and hit enter. We're going to copy the files from the senta 7 DVD image that we downloaded earlier in the course. First, let's make a mount point for it. Type in sudo mkdir /media/DVD and hit enter. Now go to where you downloaded the DVD ISO image. For me this is the download directory in my users home, as such I type cd ~/Downloads/ and hit enter. This takes me to /home/grant/Downloads. Type in ls to…
