Configuring an SMB server

- [Instructor] I'll install the Samba package here on my server with apt install samba. And now I need to make a folder to share here on my server. I'll create a space in the srv folder with mkdr /srv/ and I'll call it smbshare. And then I'll create a few files in here to have something to see. I'll write touch /srv/smbshare/ and we'll create 10 files. You'll need to make sure to set the permissions appropriately for however you want your clients to use the shared space. I'll open up etc/samba/smb.conf. As the file shows, there are a huge number of options that you can use in this file, but most of them aren't things we're going to be focusing on. We're interested in basic file sharing in this video and a lot of the options here are relevant to configuring Samba as a domain controller or for configuring printers. You should take a look at this file and get an idea of what's here, but primarily we'll leave everything as is and scroll down to the area where we define what we're going to…
