Autostart virtual machines
- [Instructor] If your host is running virtual machines that need to be available, you can configure the machines to boot up when the virtualization service starts. So if a host is rebooted for some reason, these guests that are set to autostart will come online shortly after the host starts up. Here in Virtual Machine Manager, we can choose to set a guest to autostart. I'll click on the guest and go to Edit, Virtual Machine Details, then in the window, I'll make sure I'm on the details view and I'll choose Boot Options. Here under autostart is a checkbox that says Start virtual machine on host boot up. That looks like what we want. I'll check that and press Apply. I'll go back to the console. Then I'll restart my machine. Then when it starts up again, I'll log in, start up Virtual Machine Manager, and I can see that that machine is already running.
