ACL tricks: Linux: Files and Permissions

In addition to providing permissions for multiple users and groups ACLs provide extra functionality. Using the ACL mask we can set the maximum permissions allowed. This lets us squash effective permissions for all users and groups with one simple operation. The maximum permissions can be raised as easy. We can also copy ACLs from one file to another or even back them up for restoration later.
