There is a free mobile app for Sales Navigator on smart phones and tablets. The app does not have all of the features of the Sales Navigator website, but it does give you the most essential tools for staying up to date with your sales strategy when you're out of the office. We'll take a quick tour of the Sales Navigator app, seeing how you can perform searches, check in with your leads and accounts, and monitor the news feed.
- [Voiceover] Once you get Sales Navigator all set up and your strategy in place, you may want to use the mobile app to stay up to date. Now, I've already downloaded and installed the Sales Navigator app, which is a separate app from the standard LinkedIn app. I've got that here on my home screen, so I'm just going to tap it to launch the app. I am looking at this on an iPhone, but it's basically the same on Android. If you've signed in to the standard LinkedIn app on your device, then it will pass your login information to the Sales Navigator app, and you will not have to sign in again.
Otherwise, you'll be prompted for your email address and password to sign in the first time you launch this app. Now, just like Sales Navigator on the web, your main screen will show you your news feed. You're not going to have all of the same sorting controls here as you do on the website, but this can be great for checking in on updates when you have a few spare minutes. Let's take a look at Settings. I can get to that by hitting the gear button in the top right corner. From here, you can enable push notifications, which will be useful if you receive replies to your messages.
There's a link to Send Feedback and a link to the Help Center, and you can also sign out of your account from this screen. I'm going to hit Done and that takes us back to the home screen. Now, there is a search field up at the top of the homepage. There's no option for Lead Builder here, but you can use this basic search field to do just basic searches. So, if you want to search for a specific person or a company and check out their profile or account page, you can do that here. So, I'm just going to tap on the search field and I'm going to search for a specific company.
Now, when I do this search, it does show a few people who work at the company I'm looking for, but I do not see the option to access the company's account page itself. But that's only because of this toggle switch right below the search field. Right now, it's set to search only people and if I tap on Companies, now it's searching for companies and now I do find the company I'm looking for. I can tap on that and I can see the account page for this company. Now, let's take a step back by hitting the arrow up in the top left and this time, I want to search for a person.
So, I'm going to hit the X in the search field to clear it and I'm going to type in the name of the specific person that I'm looking for. Again, at first, it looks like I'm not getting any results, but again, look at that toggle switch. I'm searching only through Companies, but if I flip to People, now I'm searching for people, now I do find the person I'm looking for. I can tap on him and I can see his profile page. So, you don't have the detailed discovery tools that you have on the Sales Navigator webpage, but you can still search for specific people or companies.
So, let's go back. I'm going to hit the back button in the top left, I'm going to hit Cancel next to the search, and we're back where we started. So, that's the homepage. At the bottom of the screen, there are four buttons for the different sections in the app. In the Android version, those buttons are just at the top of the screen. Now, you can always get back here to the homepage by hitting the Home button, but if you want to check up on the leads or accounts that you've saved, you can go to the Accounts page or the Leads page. Now, let's look at this a little bit more in-depth, so let me go back to the Accounts page, and, of course, this is a list of all of the accounts that I saved when I was working on Sales Navigator earlier on the webpage.
So, let's look at one of the accounts that I have saved here. Let me look at the LinkedIn account page. So, I'll tap on that, and, of course, I get a bunch of information for this company. As I scroll through here, I'm looking at the news feed specifically for this account or this company. Of course, this account has been saved to my accounts list, but if I wanted to unsave it, I could hit this button up near the top right corner, and I get the option to unsave the account. This is also where I would go if I was looking at an account page that I wanted to save.
But for now, I'm just going to hit Cancel. Now I want to flip over to my leads. So, if I hit the Leads button down at the bottom of the screen, of course, this is a list of all the people that I've saved as leads. I can look at any of these people just by tapping on their name and then I can see their profile page. This is also where I would go if I wanted to send an InMail message to somebody. I could just hit Send InMail and I could send that message right here in the app. But for now, I'm just going to cancel this. Finally, looking at those buttons along the bottom, there's an option for Messages, which might be the most useful part of this app.
If you receive a message or a reply to an InMail when you're not at your computer, it's really nice to be able to read and reply right here in the app. The Sales Navigator mobile app is a great tool for keeping an eye on your leads, accounts, and messages at all times, when you're not at your computer.
