- [Instructor] When watching content on Linkedin Learning I strongly recommend taking notes. While watching a course, I often come across great tips, key concepts, or a call to action, and at the time it makes perfect sense and I'm sure I'll remember it later, right? Well, usually we don't remember everything, which is why I think it's important to take notes. Let's take a look at built-in notes feature on Linkedin Learning and some of the advantages that it provides. So while watching a course, you have the option to take notes at any time. In order to do so, you can go to the side navigation bar and from the menu up at the top, we want to go to the far right.
And over here we have notebook. I'm going to click notebook, and then we get this box that says type your note here and press enter to submit. So let's say that I'm watching this course right now. - [Instructor] Are you adding value to your network? Have you helped refer at least two people in your network to-- - [Instructor] And this reminds me of something and I want to take a note here that add value to my network. And I'm going to put in post to my newsfeed and help others with finding a job.
Now when I'm done I'll hit enter, and look what it does. It gives you your note as well as shows you where in the video that you made this note for. So it was in the Preparing for your Job Hunt chapter and in the Making your Job Hunt Plan at the one minute and 20 second mark. Now I'm going to go back over here to the contents and let's say here for writing a resume. - So this is a way to de-emphasize those spotty gaps in your-- - [Instructor] So here let's say I want to take another note.
Now obviously this is just an example, but I'll go to notebook and I'll put here eliminate the gaps in my resume by adding and then I'll put something in here. Now when I'm done I'll hit return, and as you can see, it adds another note to this course. And here it's in the Writing a Resume video at the 1:25 mark. Now the nice thing is that if I were to leave this, let's say that I go here back to my Linkedin Learning homepage and then I click up here on in progress courses, and here I have my Finding a Job course.
When I open this up. - [Instructor] Are you adding-- - [Instructor] And I navigate back over to my notes, they will automatically be saved on the platform and I can access them again. So here I have access to all of the notes that I took while watching this course. And if one of them doesn't make sense, I can easily click here and it will bring me to that point in the video where I took that note. I'll click here on this one. - [Instructor] Gaps in your history. Some-- - [Instructor] So when you take a note while watching a course, not only will those notes be saved in your account to access, but it will also place a bookmark at the point in the video where you took that note.
So this is a great feature that allows you to not only watch and consume a course, but to add in some notes and help you remember some of the things that you learned while doing it. Take advantage of this feature.
