The Me tab allows you to access your profile, account settings, information about who's viewed your profile, updates you've shared, and in-app notifications about discussions in LinkedIn Groups, your endorsements, and more. Learn how to edit your LinkedIn profile from the mobile application.
- From here I'd like to show you how to interact with your profile. So I'm going to select the Me tab at the bottom of the screen, and it's going to take us to this overview page. It's here that we can access our profile, account settings, and again like we saw earlier we'll see who's viewed our profile, updates we've shared, and any in-app notifications abut discussions in your LinkedIn groups, even endorsements, and more. But let's talk about how we can interact and modify our actual profile. I'll select James Donald here at the top of the screen, and that's going to take me into the profile.
And you'll notice that there is a pencil icon next to any option that you want to edit. So here I can select the pencil icon in the basic information section, and now we can modify the name, education, or country, zip code, so on and so forth. Once you've made a change you'll select Save in the upper right hand corner. As I scroll down we can even tap to edit our experience. Choose the pencil icon to the right of Experience, and I'll tap the pencil icon next to Senior Web Designer, and here we can edit the information.
You'll notice that you can't do everything in this that you can do on the desktop application, so there is some limited functionality, but it's great for on the fly updates. I'll choose the X in the upper left hand corner, and you'll also notice this blue circle with a plus icon in the center at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. And this is how you can add a new section. So here we can add new info into any of the existing sections, or I can tap the drop-down here under Skills, and we can tap it to add additional skills.
So if I wanted to add a new skill that we had just picked up I can type it into here. You'll notice skills appear and you can select one from the list, and just like that we've added it to our profile. And once you're done with any particular section you can simply just choose back in the upper left hand corner, and you'll review your entire profile. You'll also notice that you'll see your recent activity there towards the top of the screen, and you can chose See More if you'd like to look at even more activity. And near the top of the screen we'll see our recent activity, and if I tap the Posts option I can see any post that we've published.
This is a great place to come and check in on what your posts are doing and how people are engaging with them. I'll select the back icon there in the upper left hand corner. And if we scroll all the way to the bottom of our profile, we can see who else has been viewed. In this case I'll click on Cheryl's profile. And just like we saw with our own profile we have the option to review some of her highlights, her experience, and so on and so forth. You can also tap in on company logos, I'll choose Hansel & Petal, and here I can see all the information about this particular company, and I can even choose to follow it if I was so inclined.
Feel free to explore this section on your own. LinkedIn's made it really easy to change your information on the fly, so tap in and see if there's anything that you need to update while you're on the go.
