How do you use the vast network within LinkedIn to connect with people who matter to your business? Through warm introductions. In this video, Donna Alexander demonstrates how to use Sales Navigator to find third degree connections to the people you want to do business with.
- [Instructor] The LinkedIn network spans millions of people globally. How do you leverage the network in order to connect and engage the people who matter most to your business? By using the smartest path to engagement, the warm introduction. Sales navigator shows you how you are connected to a prospect, allowing you to avoid a cold outreach. So how do you do it? Using your LinkedIn Professional license, you will see the how you're connected box and in there, you will see a list of people you can reach out to in order to connect with a potential prospect.
If you are using our LinkedIn Team or Enterprise license, you will see how you're connected, plus TeamLink. When it comes to TeamLink, it expands your colleagues' networks for even more introductions. When you view a profile, TeamLink identifies and shows you the people you can ask for an introduction from, giving access to your third degree network and beyond. You can use an introduction to contact LinkedIn members beyond your first degree through connections you have in common.
And once requested, your connection can start a message addressed to you and the desired recipient. To ask for the introduction, click on the ask about button in your TeamLink panel to send a message to a member and ask for an introduction to that common connection. When we're looking at including our message, I've got one here I'm going to pop in, we wanna make sure that we're doing that introduction properly. So reaching out with a cordial greeting and then letting the person know why you want to connect.
We wanna remember that this person's going to be leveraging their existing relationship to bridge the gap between you and a prospect. Then, offer to repay the favor and make sure they have a comfortable out. Once your recipient accepts the introduction, you can then exchange information directly. You won't be connected with the other member unless one of you sends an invitation to connect and the request is accepted. As always, LinkedIn recommends that you only connect with people you know and trust.
When you view a profile, TeamLink identifies and shows you the people you can ask for an introduction from, giving access to your third degree network and beyond. Use the power of your extended network to start a conversation and book that first meeting by leveraging your referral.
