Design a strong company page

- [Instructor] Now the first thing people are going to see when they go to your company page is that background image. Now some people don't even have a background image, and some people just try to pull something from their website or try to make a social image or Facebook or YouTube or Twitter background work, but as you can see, those dimensions just don't work, but having a great company page on LinkedIn is the foundation for having great employee profiles. If you've not yet created a company page on LinkedIn, then that's your first step, so why does this matter? Well, many of the visual and written components from your company's existing brand can be carried over to your company page. Because of the opportunity to create strong branded visuals, I recommend creating several different background images that could be switched up to reflect not only standard branding, but share recent accolades, business awards, or promote a new case study. Create holiday banners for different seasons or create banners reflective of your content calendar and monthly themes. What I'm saying is when it comes to background images on your company page, it's not one and done. Include a call to action or tagline and your social information on your banner. If you can provide contact information that's unique to LinkedIn, this will also help you track leads coming from your page. When creating a standard company page background image, I also recommend crafting a background image that your employees can upload to their profiles as well. Here you see the banner for a company page reflected in my personal profile as well. To get the most recent background image templates, go to www.vengresobanner.com or simply download the handout template in your resources. Finally, the other visual to consider is your logo. The dimensions are square, 300 by 300 pixels, so if you do not currently have a square option or version of your logo, you might want to create one. Long, horizontal logos just don't look good on LinkedIn, especially on your employees' personal pages. If you do have a horizontal logo, then consider just putting it in your background image like we've done, and if there's an icon version of your logo, like the V in Vengreso, you can make that the square element, so make sure to use these visual elements in order to create a strong visual brand on LinkedIn.
