Playlists provide a great way to organize saved content on the LinkedIn Learning platform. You can create playlists on specific topics and then save courses directly to those collections.
- [Instructor] In previous videos, I've mentioned saving courses that you're interested in. This is something I strongly recommend. Often times, you'll come across a great course that interests you. However, you may not have time to watch it right away. In this situation, you can save the course to watch later. In this video, lets take a look at a great way to organize courses that you save on the LinkedIn learning platform. And that is through the use of collections. Now there's a couple different ways we can create collections. The first way is from the homepage.
I'm going to go up to my profile icon and then go down to collections. So we've seen this menu here before. But as you can see, I do not yet have any collections. So I'm going to go in here and create a new collection. When I click here it allows me to title it. I want to title it teaching and then down below I can leave a description, if I want. I'll go ahead and click create. And I've now created that collection. However, I don't have any courses that are in it.
So what I'm going to do now is go back to my homepage and here they are suggesting some different education courses for me. So in other words, here, teaching techniques, creating multimedia learning, maybe this is one that I want to add to my teaching collection. Well, in order to save a course, all you need to do is to click on the save icon. I'll click here and when I do, notice that it says, it is saved, however, if I want, I can add it to a collection from here. Right now the only collection that I have is teaching, so I'm going to click on that plus sign and it has now added it to that collection.
Well, lets see if it did. I'll go back up here to collections and like that, you can see that inside of here has now saved that course in the teaching collection. Lets say now that I type in social media and I find a course that I really like on social media. It is, lets go to courses here. Top 10 Social Media Management tools and I want to save this course. So off to the right, I'm going to click on the save icon.
However, here I don't want to add this to my teaching collection. I want to add it to a social media collection. Well, it can also create a collection from right here by clicking on create new collection. I'll click there. It brings us that pop-up box. I'll type in social media. Click on create. And like that, voila. We have a social media collection and it now added this course to that collection. Then I go back to collections. I have two of them. Social media and teaching.
So take advantage of the collections feature by saving courses you're interested in and then organizing them into topic areas.
