- [Narrator] Okay, so once you've taken the time to make sure your basic LinkedIn profile is in good shape, you're then ready to upgrade to a premium career account. A career account offers enhanced versions of the features of a regular free account, as well as a collection of exclusive tools all aimed at helping you land the job you're looking for. To read more about premium career, you can visit this page I'm looking at now at linkedin.com/premium/products, and then select the career plan. So here you can see that with a premium career account, you'll unlock features to help boost your visibility and increase your chances of finding the job you're looking for.
For example, with a regular account, you can only see the last five people who viewed your profile. But with a premium career account, you can see everyone who's viewed your profile in the last 90 days, giving you a much larger pool of potential employers who have shown at least some interest in you that you might want to reach out to or contact. You'll also gain access to salary insights, letting you see salary details when browsing jobs. And you'll be able to use up to five InMail credits a month. InMail is the LinkedIn messaging system that lets you send messages to people outside your network.
This allows you to contact people like hiring managers without having to first connect with them. In addition to the five InMail credits you receive per month with your premium career account, you have the ability to purchase more. You'll also receive access to LinkedIn Learning, where you can watch any of our thousands of courses to brush up on your existing skills or to learn skills that might give you an edge when applying for jobs. I'll take a closer look at some of these and other benefits of the premium career account in the upcoming movies in this course. But now let's take a look at how to upgrade your account. When signing up, you get a 30 day free trial, giving you access to all the premium career tools and benefits so you can try it out without your credit card being charged.
Start by clicking Try for Free. If prompted, sign in again. And then select your preferred billing cycle here. Either monthly or annually. Whichever you choose, you'll still get the first month free, and you can cancel at any time during that month if you decide premium career isn't for you. You'll see exactly when your free trial begins and when it will end, and what date you'll need to cancel on to avoid being charged. You'll also get an email reminder seven days before the trial ends. Next you'll enter your credit card info, or use any existing card information you may have previously used on LinkedIn.
You can also add additional payment methods. Once I've entered my information I'll tap Review Order. Again, that gives me a run down of the terms of the subscription. And then I can click Start Your Free Trial. Next you'll see a receipt, and at this point you'll be immediately upgraded to a full premium career account, and you can start using its features right away. Notice if I return to my profile page, we now see this gold LinkedIn icon indicating that this is a premium career account.
Okay, so in the upcoming videos, we'll take a closer look at the features and benefits of premium career.
