- Up until now, we've worked on our raw files through Lightroom and Lightroom is a really great place to do that and I think it's where you're going to want to work with your raw files for the most part, but Photoshop is a really important part of everybody's work flow, especially those using type, retouching, design, layout. So you do want to be able to access those raw files from here as well and things work a little bit differently. So, first let's talk about how to open your non-raw files in to Photoshop. The non-raw files in Lightroom, they just work, but if you wanted to pass a non-raw file through the Camera Raw plugins, so you have some of those same unique features, like Lens Correction, Noise Reduction and things like that, you're going to need to tell Camera Raw to open those files.
