Working the shot of a tropical flower
- Let's talk about some gear on what I'm using. I've got a Sony a7R Mark II, beautiful 42 megapixel high resolution sensor. If I make a photograph of this flower that I really love, I have the ability to print very large files, which always gets me excited to see my work printed large. And so that's the camera of choice. I've got a dedicated macro lens. This is a Sony 90 millimeter f/2.8, and with a dedicated macro lens, you're able to get incredibly close to the subject, and so the more serious you get about macro photography, the more important it is to have a dedicated lens. We've got a remote shutter. This is going to make sure that I'm hands off when I go ahead and take the picture. I've got here this is a little pad from my backpacking trips that I use for photography as well. It's just a little foam pad. I can set my gear on it, I can put my knees on it. So it's just a lot of times, you're in situations on the ground with macro work, so it just adds a little bit of comfort…
