Wireless transfer to an Android device

- If you want to shoot with a regular camera but start your post-production workflow with an Android phone or tablet, then your first step will be to transfer your images from your camera to your device. Many cameras today offer built-in WiFi for file transfers. Such cameras usually work by turning themselves into a wireless hotspot. You then connect your device to that hotspot, and use a special app on the device to transfer files from the camera. Before we go any further with this topic, though, I should say that at the time of this shooting, I don't know of any camera that can transfer RAW files wirelessly, so if you're intent on a RAW workflow, then wireless transfer is not going to be an option for you. You can continue to shoot RAW, but performing a wireless transfer from your camera to your device will require a conversion to JPEG; depending on your camera, this conversion may or may not be performed automatically.
