What you should know

- [Instructor] This is a Lightroom course about image editing for anyone with photos that needs improving. It doesn't include lessons on how to use your camera or how to organize your photos. You should already be familiar with Lightroom and have an assortment of your own images in Lightroom to follow along with. The larger the variety, the better. I will be demonstrating editing techniques on landscapes, portraits, both people and animals, architecture, and still life images. The bulk of these images are my own with a handful of stock images thrown in. There are no exercise files for this course. In order to follow along, you should already have a paid Creative Cloud subscription and know how to log into your Creative Cloud subscription. Know how to add photos to your Lightroom account. Be able to organize your photos with Lightroom albums and have a variety of images in an album to practice editing on. Also, understand the differences between Lightroom and Lightroom Classic. If you're completely new to Lightroom, I recommend watching my course, Learning the Lightroom Ecosystem, and Learning Lightroom by Jan Kabili. This course is taught with Lightroom on a Mac computer, not Lightroom Classic. If you're not sure of the differences, again, I remind you to watch my course, Learning the Lightroom Ecosystem. Lightroom is available for Mac and Windows computer, iPad, Chromebook, iPhone, and Android phones. The UI is slightly different on each of these devices but the controls are the same. All of the lessons can be accomplished with any version of Lightroom, especially Lightroom on iPad. The iPad UI is very similar to Lightroom on a computer. If you're a Lightroom Classic user, the lessons still apply. Everything I teach in Lightroom can be done in Lightroom Classic. You'll just need to know where to find the controls there. If you have all of this in place, you're ready to get started.
