Using split toning to refine color balance
- Besides the HSL controls to go after different sections, you can actually just divide the image in half, the highlights and the shadows. And then take advantage of split toning to push the color a little bit in those two different zones. Let me show you how it works. We'll get off of the two image view here, and just scroll down to Split Toning. If I expand that, you'll see that we have Highlights and the Shadows. So, maybe I want to put a little bit of blue into the highlights, and start to drag the saturation. You'll notice that in the brighter areas we're getting more blue being put in there. Now, you go too far, this looks completely unnatural. But a small amount of saturation, and as we push that there it looks pretty good. You'll also notice if you click on that color swatch you can actually work with the color board here, and drag or pick the color what you want. There's a light blue to bring out the blue sky a bit.
