Using Open as Smart Object in Photoshop

- [Instructor] One of the advantages of editing in Lightroom Classic is that all the edits you make there are nondestructive of the original photo. They're just instructions in a Lightroom catalog. By contrast, edits that you make in Photoshop can make permanent changes to the pixels in a photo. But there is a way to avoid that and to build in more editing flexibility at the Photoshop end of the Lightroom Classic Photoshop workflow, and that is, when you're passing images from Lightroom Classic over to Photoshop for editing, use the Edit in Photoshop as a Smart Object command. If you're following along, you can use this photo from the Open as Smart Object sub folder in the folders panel in the Library module. I'm going to open that in the Develop module by pressing D on the keyboard. I've already made some basic edits to this RAW photo, and now I'd like to change it to black and white.
