Join Richard Harrington for an in-depth discussion in this video Tethering with Canon's EOS Utility, part 1, part of Learning Tethered Shooting.
- Let's explore Canon's EOS utility.…This program is designed to make it easy…to connect a Canon camera to your computer…and make adjustments along the way…as well as monitor the images as you shoot.…This is a great tool if you're gonna be…shooting in a studio environment.…Now in this case, I've got the camera mounted on a tripod…so I could shoot hands-free,…and I've connected the USB cable…from the camera over to the computer.…Now what we need to do is launch the EOS utility.…And it's pretty straight-forward.…You'll see that it gives us a handful of choices.…
First up, I could start to download the images.…Now in this case there are no new images to download…since I've captured 'em all already,…but we'll have some in a second.…I can also browse the memory card…and see anything on the camera,…so if there's an image that hasn't been transferred,…I can select that and then start to pull it down.…In this case I can see that it's a raw plus a JPG.…One thing to note about the Canon utility,…you need to have the original install CD-ROM.…
