Join Richard Harrington for an in-depth discussion in this video Merging for black and white, part of Lightroom Classic CC 2015: Creating High-Dynamic Range (HDR) Photos.
- Let's create the merged files.…Each of these images are a bit different,…so this'll be a good opportunity…to refresh on the merge dialogue.…We have a locked down shot where I was rock-solid…using a tripod all the way to something…that was shot handheld.…With the first image selected here,…I'll press Control H to invoke the process.…I don't see any need to Auto Align or deghost, here,…because this was from a tripod,…and it's gonna do a pretty good job of combining the images.…The only consideration for deghosting…might be the starburst area right here.…
You see that we're seeing some weird halos,…but that's also a good subject…for some cloning and touch-up.…Let's jump to a low deghosting…and see if it cleans up that starburst effect.…It'll take a little while longer, 'cause it has to analyze…the images in greater detail, and I just wanna see…if those starbursts caused…by the one minute exposure are fixed.…It looks like it fixed the bottom edge some.…Let's see if a stronger method will clean it up even more,…or if it's just gonna go too aggressive…
