Geotagging

- Geotagging is the process of storing location information in the Metadata of an image so that you can keep track of where the image was shot. The desktop version of Lightroom has an excellent Geotagging mechanism built in. Lightroom Mobile lacks this ability so you'll need to wait until you get home to Geotag your original images. If you find yourself in the field and wanting to Geotag images there are some good tools available. The journaling application that I use can regeotag so I like to have my images tagged as I add them to the journal while I'm out on the road. It's really nice to be able to Geotag on the road. For Geotagging to work, you have to have a log file that tells where were you were at any given time during the shoot. Geotag Photos Pro is an iPhone and Android app that will build such a log file.
