Fine-tuning color and tone

- [Chris] Next I wanna take a look at…how we can use hue saturation adjustments…and curves in order to fine tune the color…and the look in the photograph.…One of the things that I notice is that the neck…is a little bit darker.…And eventually I'm gonna add an adjustment layer…which is using curves adjustment and create a little bit…of an S curve.…And when you do that what can happen is it can bring out…colors in some unwanted ways.…In other words, you can see how the overall color…is much more saturated.…Let me exaggerate for a moment.…

But can you see how on the edges we have these issues…where this is definitely too dark and too red…and too yellow.…So knowing that that might happen when I make…an adjustment in more subtle ways,…I wanna prepare for that.…So I'm gonna go to my hue saturation adjustment layer,…grab the targeted adjustment tool icon,…and click into the tones here in the neck, the yellows.…And I'm just gonna pull some color out of that area…and also brighten this up a little bit.…Now this is currently affecting everything.…
