Extending the canvas in Photoshop
- [Instructor] Now that the image is open inside of Photoshop, we can take our next steps. And in order to illustrate the before and after, I'm simply going to copy the background layer. So click and drag that to the new layer icon. And I'm gonna name this one Extend, because here what I really wanna do is extend and change the overall canvas. The way I'll do that is with the crop tool. So go ahead and select the crop tool right here. And I wanna use content aware technology to extend this so I'll turn on Content Aware and I'm going to click and simply drag this over. So that the rule of third lines is a little bit closer to the subject here, and we have more open space on the side of the frame. Next I'll press Enter or Return, that will apply this crop and recomposition of the image. And what this will do for us is it will extend this past the edge of the frame. So you can see before, this is where it was, and now here, how it's added some new clouds and extended the ocean as well…
