- [Instructor] When it comes time to deliver the images to the client, at least for a review, an online situation is probably a good way to go, it's easy for you and it's easy for them. I'm gonna show you the way that I go, and some things to look for, when you're shopping for your own particular online platform. I'm using SmugMug, I've used them for a long time, and I just think they're great, there's a lot of things I like about it. First of all the shots look very good, on SmugMug and you know that is something, that's part of it. I like the presentation, I like the ease of navigation, one of the things that I do is make sure that the file name is showing, so that if the client, for instance, likes a shot, then I can ask them what number and we both can look at the same thing. I wanna take you into the gallery settings, just so you can see some of the reasons why I like this particular platform for delivering proofs to clients. So we'll go to gallery settings right here, and here are just the basic stuff here, the title and so forth, but when we get into security and sharing, this is really neat. On visibility, I have some options here, I usually use unlisted but if you have the link, you don't need a password, and then that way you don't have to juggle passwords and so forth and keep track of them. However if I really wanna lock it down, you can make it password protected, right here on access and you can see, people with a password, that's one of the options. So, I usually go anyone with the link, but again, if the client says, hey I really want these to be private, then you have that option. We come down here on web searchable, and you can control that. So you can make it so it's not web searchable, so that it isn't spidered by Google and so forth. Same thing with SmugMug, and if you want you can even hide the owner, however, in my case I never wanna do that. I want people to know who took the shots. We can also protect the photos too, so you put them on here and you can control the display size for these images, right there. And you can have a right-click message, and that means that, for instance if they try to right-click to download the image you can have a little message say, hey I have this turned off right now, but after we divvy up, then I can turn that on for you, and you can download all the shots. Download buttons, same thing, you can have those appear or not. And then if you want, you can have a download password, so for instance let's say that you have a download password, you show them the gallery, they get to look at it, they decide that they like the images, and that they wanna buy them and pay you, so once you get the money, then you can send them the password, and then they can download everything right here, and you don't have to re-upload them or do things like that, so super handy. There are some social things that you can have on or off there. And there's shopping as well, so SmugMug can handle the printing, if you don't wanna mess with the printing, they can handle that, and the client can buy the stuff right here on the site; buy the prints, order them. And you can even do an affiliate thing where you set the price and SmugMug gets their cut and you get your cut. So there's a lot of options here to just kind of make it easy on you and the client both. And then you have some choices in terms of appearance, the one that I really wanna show you is, make sure that showing the file name is on, so that way that shows up with the picture and you guys can talk about each image, via it's unique file name. So you can see why I like this, and rather you go with SmugMug or a different service, these are some of the things that I think you should look for. And then once you get all that setup, you can send them the link and you let them enjoy it, and then you just correspond via email, in terms of finishing off the job, or delivering the high resolution versions, or unlocking the high resolution versions. You really have a lot of control, and they can look at it at their leisure, it's really a win, win situation.
