Join Richard Harrington for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating stills from video, part of Lightroom: Working with Video.
…Maybe you rolled a video clip accidentally and you want to extract…a still, or perhaps you want to pull a custom still out to…use as a thumbnail clip when posting to a video-sharing site, like Vimeo…or YouTube, or maybe you just need a low-resolution clip for web use.…Remember, you can't pull out as high of a quality…a still as you could from a true RAW photo,…but you can get a reasonable quality, something perfectly acceptable…for sharing to social media websites, out of a video clip.…
Here's how.…With the clip loaded, you could drag through…until you get to the frame you like.…For example here, I have this surfer and…I want to get him while he's standing upright.…Now, shooting stills, this would've been hard for me to nail.…I was kind of rushed and I was just shooting some video…of the action, but I decided I wanted to pull a frame out.…So, that looks pretty good there.…He's got good body position coming off the wave.…And if I click on this pop-up menu here, I can choose to capture an individual frame.…
