- [Instructor] This movie is all about creating and modifying collections from right here inside Lightroom mobile. Because so far we've talked about how we can create collection in Lightroom desktop and then go over to Lightroom mobile. What about the other way around. What if we want to start here, how do we do that? Well, in the home screen, you'll see a plus icon in the upper right hand corner. Tap on that, that'll open up your collection dialogue there. Here we can go ahead and name the collection I'll call this one Cars, and I'll tap okay. Now when you create a collection, it may be a little difficult to find it right? We'll have to scroll around to find it, there it is down there.
There has to be an easier way, and of course there is. If you take advantage of the organize feature, it's in the top center of the frame here, and you tap on it, you can sort what you're viewing here, your collections in different ways. You can sort by import date, you can choose to sort by title, either Z to A, or tap again, A to Z. You can also sort by photo count. If you create a collection and you know it's empty, well then that'll go up to the top. So again, you can choose the option there which you think will help you and then go back and find your collection.
There is our collection right there, it's that cars collection. There aren't any photos in there right now. So I'll tap on add photos. I have a choice to bring in photos from my camera roll, which is something I realistically I do more with my iPhone than my iPad. So here I'll just go to my Lightroom photos, and with these lightroom photos, I want to add a few images, so I'll tap on one and then scroll until I can find a few others. And I'm just looking to add a couple of images here to this. And let me see if I can just find one or two more photographs.
So I want to make a just a little mistakes so I can talk about how we can modify things here as well. Okay I've selected my photographs, I've tapped add five photos. And then inside my collection, we can now see these photographs here. If we go back, what we'll see if our collection, and here are the photographs inside of it. I'll make them a little bit bigger so you can see what we have. Now this collection, I want it to only contain photographs of cars. What do I do now? Because I've added some images into it, which clearly I want to remove like this one of the boat here.
Well, if I tap on that image, and I realize it is something I want to get rid of. I can click on this image and tap on the three dots in the upper right hand corner. From there, it opens up a menu and one of the menu items is remove. When you tap remove, it says hey this photo will be removed from the collection but it'll still remain in Lightroom photos. So you're not deleting it, I'm just removing it. Perfect. So now its gone. Now, we can also do this from this particular view here. If we decide that we only want cars, and we aren't interested in cars plus people, you can tap on the three dots here and you can click on remove and then select on the images you want to remove, hit the trash can.
It'll then remove those images from the collection. Again, keep in mind, this isn't destructive, it isn't deleting the images forever, it's just removing them from inside the collection here. Now lets say we go back to another area of what we have here and we decide to scroll around here a little bit and I tap on this collections and inside one of my collections, this one, titled SB, I come upon this photograph that I captured in Santa Barbara, and it's of a car. I think great, I really want this image to be inside of that other collection.
How do we do that? Well, if you tap on the three dots again, you notice there is one option which is copy to, when you tap copy to, it'll say, hey where do you want to copy it to, boom. I want to copy it to that cars collection, tap the check mark in the upper right hand corner, and then if we go back, we'll see, wallah. This particular collection now contain these images here. So working with collection is really as simple as adding or removing them as you've seen. Now when it comes to renaming the collection, you can go to the view, where we have the home screen, tap on the three dots.
Three dots typically means, hey you're going to see a menu and there's more options. And that's true with almost all Adobe Apps. So here it opens up more options, one of them is rename. And what I'm going to do is go ahead and name this one SB Cars because all these photographs were captured in Santa Barbara, and they're photographs of cars, I click okay. And then now there I have that collection renamed with these three images in it.
