- There's a great free utility that effectively works with all image editing applications so you can create a LUT. It's one of my favorite because it means that you can move color treatments between different manufacturers pretty easily. It's called IWLTBAP LUT Creator. When you open it up, effectively what's going to happen is there is this HALD chart and this represents the range of colors that you would normally see in a Cube file. It looks strange, but it's effectively a test pattern. What you want to do is open this up into another application. For example, I'll open this up into Luminar Flex and then I'll just drag that onto the application. Flex offers several great pre-sets. I'ma go here into the black and white film emulation and take a look at some of the options they have here like this nice Fuji film stock. I like that, but I'ma back it off so it's not quite so strong and just tweak things a little bit more…
