In this video, Erika Thornes talks about using the Tone Curve for silhouettes. Erika almost always applies a small S curve to adjust mid tone contrast. Erika goes over how to adjust and use the tone curve panel.
- [Instructor] I'm going to minimize the navigator on this side…just so we have more real estate for our photo.…And let's come over to the basics panel…and we're going to minimize that…and open up the tone curve.…Ah, the tone curve.…This is pretty fun.…This is where we can adjust contrast on our image…with more precision than we could up in the basics panel.…Now, I want to make sure that we all are in the same page…when it comes to the tone curve.…There are two different views…that have to be toggled between.…So, let's come down over here to the right-hand corner…and we'll click on it.…There's one panel here that says RGB…but we're going to be working on the one here…that we can adjust different regions of the image.…
So, let's make sure that we all are on the same page here.…Now, this image needs to have…a little bit more contrast applied.…We can either go through and look at the ones…that are preset.…Here's a medium contrast, here's a strong contrast…but as if you can see…on the curve here, it's equally spread…
