While in the Lens Correction panel in Adobe Lightroom, Erika Thornes shows how to remove chromatic aberration. Auto worked great in the image that Erika Thornes used in the demo, but it doesn't always. Erika Thornes teaches how to adjust Chromatic aberration manually.
- [Instructor] All right, now this image looks pretty great…just the way it is, but I'm afraid if I go to print it,…there's going to be some chromatic aberration.…Chromatic aberration is when we see the highlight…around the body that is, it's from the lens distortion,…and it's from shooting in backlight,…it brings out all the flaws in our lens.…Now we can hit the Auto button here…and remove chromatic aberration.…It works fantastic for this image,…we've nailed it, we don't have to do any more,…but let's say your image doesn't work quite this well,…so let's put that chromatic aberration back…and we're going to go do some manual adjustments…so you know how to use them…in case you run into the same problem.…
Now, the very first time I printed this photo,…I didn't remove the chromatic aberration…because I didn't zoom in carefully and look at the photo,…and I ended up really seeing these pigment lines…that you see, this purple and this green,…in the final print.…It was really upsetting to me,…and I had to completely reprint the image.…
