Join Richard Harrington for an in-depth discussion in this video Adding a watermark to video, part of Lightroom: Working with Video.
A lot of times as you put together a story, whether it be video or video in stills, you're going to want to add a title. Maybe it's the beginning and the end or throughout. Let me show you what you can do. Inside the slide show controls here, you do have some basic titling ability. So, for example, maybe you want something over the entire clip. Let's go ahead and add a watermark. I'll choose Edit Watermarks, and you have a couple of options. You could do a graphic watermark if you want to navigate out to a file, and that's just fine. Or text, and in this case I'm just going to put a copyright notice.
I could assign that to be right justified I can adjust the style of the font, I recommend you go a bit bolder. And you'll find additional controls here, for the overall size. There we go. You can also choose an option like fit or fill. Fit's going to generally work a bit better here. Notice, of course, that you can tweak that a little bit with inset controls, and, of course, the ability to anchor it. I'm going to pin that to the right edge. And, of course, we can even add a little bit of a drop shadow if we want off of that. Now that's looks good. I'll save this as a new preset and I'll give it with my name and choose done. And you see that, that becomes available. Now that's pretty large so if you need to edit that no big deal. You could still leave that pinned and simply adjust the overall size. So, I'm going to pull that down just a bit. I'll say proportional, and we'll pull that in and I'll click Save to have that update.
Note you can't save over a previous one, so you'll have to create that. And store it as an option. You can later on edit these watermarks as you see fit. But that looks a little better there, a bit more subtle. And I've got that in the lower corner. Additionally you could take advantage of putting titles at the front or the back. Now you already saw me add something in the beginning. This could be your identity plate if you want to add it. Or you can go ahead and just put in intro screen, and let's edit this identity plate. I can upload a logo if I wanted or type in. Let's choose a font that is a little more stylized for this. Yeah. And adjust the size. At the end we can add an ending screen, and what I'll do here is edit this and I'll include the copyright information about the musician. Now you'll find that information in the folder I gave you with the music. Now in this case, this particular file is coming from creative comments. I went back to the website where I got the file from. This is ccmixter.org. It is a website where many musicians choose to share their work. You see in this case I have picked his song, it's allowable to use this as long as I provide attribution. So what I need to do here is just select this text and copy it. And I'll go back to Lightroom. And let's bring that up for the end slate, we'll modify that, and we'll paste this text in, there we go, and we'll just modify that, so the song is called Blue Ocean, and we need to add his name, there we go copy. And let's switch back. There we go. And of course we can adjust the size of that as needed. And I've got my end credit. Alright, let's take a look at that with the titles and credits put in We'll go back to the first slide. And we're in the Slide Show module there. And let's let it play. You see the copyright notice stays up. And, after the last shot, it will do a fade out and put that end credit up.
To cite the music, with a gentle fade out. Alright, the slideshow is done. It's a nice, simple one, but it's got a title, you know what it's about, you've got copyright notice given, if that is a concern to you, and at the end, we properly cite our sources. For the creative commons music. At this point, I want to export it so I can share it with others. And we'll do that next.
