- [Instructor] In this movie we'll take a look at how we can share a collection as a public web gallery which is a phenomenal and quick and easy way to get your work out there and share it with the world. What you want to do first is choose a collection. So you want to make sure that the collection has images which you like. I'll choose this one here. It's called Italy Selects. These are some photographs from a recent trip to Italy. Then next you want to rename the collection because that name will show up in the public gallery. So tap on the three dots to the right of the collection there and tap on rename.
I'm just going to call this one Italy. You want to choose a name which makes sense for the photographs. Next after having done that, again go to those three little dots there and you'll see in this dialog there's a menu item which has an icon which is a globe and then next to it says Share Collection. We'll tap on that. It says hey this collection is currently private. You can share it now as a web gallery. So that's what I want to do so I'll tap Share. This is going to create that web space or the environment where I can have all of these images. Now this particular gallery has a lot of photographs.
I think 44 it looks like are there. So it's now public and then what I want to do is I want to view this on the web so I'll go ahead and go view on the web, and it's going to take me to my browser and it will open up the browser and take me to this link where we can see this gallery in real time. So all of this is happening right now as I'm recording this. It's that simple. It's that easy. You can see in the upper right hand corner it says Lightroom then Italy. There's the little collection name. You could also have a collection name which says Chris Orwig Photography dash Italy.
That could be a good idea as well. You can navigate through these images. You can tap on them and here we can scroll through the photographs. We could also do a slide show if we wanted to. Now if we get to a point where we see an image that's interesting or someone else does for that matter, they can tap on the info button that talks about what the file name is and what not and who captured it. They can also add comments here and so here I'll go ahead and add a comment. I'll need to be logged in to their Creative Cloud account but I'll go ahead and do this.
I'm already logged in so I'm just going to add a comment and I want to show you how you can then see these comments. Once we've added one of those, if I go back to Lightroom Mobile which I'll do now, what we'll see, and again just doing this real time as it goes, you'll see that if I make the thumbnail size here a little bit bigger. Let me see if I can do this in this view. For some reason it's not working for me, but we'll try it one more time. There we go. I'll just go to this larger view, but what you can see is that it now says hey, someone liked this photo and they also left a comment.
So this can be helpful for clients if they want to review images and add likes or comments to your images. It makes it a little more interactive and you can see those comments inside of this field. They aren't open, you just tap on that little icon right there and that opens and closes that field. Now if you decide that you want to send someone a link to this, if you go back to the collection, and again go to tap the three dots and tap on Share Collection, you can share a link. So if you tap Share Link, what that will do is it will copy the link so that you can then send it as an email or other things as well.
Here I'll simply just tap copy and I'm going to paste this link into Notes and I'm going to do that so you can see the link if you're curious and want to go ahead and visit that link. There it is, https://adobe.ly/2vdqlsS. So anyway, you could go to that link and you could view those photographs if you want and leave some comments. That could be kind of fun, would love to hear your thoughts about those images or this course and it would just be fun to kind of connect and interact with you.
So you can do that and that's a benefit of being able to share a collection as a public web gallery. If you haven't ever done this, give it a try. It's a lot of fun. Quick and easy way to get your work out there and to allow other people to enjoy it and also to react and respond to it as well.
