Using speedlights with third-party radio triggers
- In a previous movie, I shared a few tips for making sure your camera is communicating clearly with your off-camera flash. One of those is using a reflector right here, either my hand or a piece of paper to reflect the pop-up flash back to a off-camera flash. However, if you find yourself using that kinda trick very frequently, it may be time to invest in a set of radio triggers. The flashes and the camera communicate intelligently using that optical system and that's what we've been talking about to this point, but these use radio waves and they don't have to be line of sight. The flash can be around the corner. It can be behind a tree in the background. It can be inside of a modifier and still communicate well with the radio triggers. So, one trigger goes on top of the camera right here and one trigger mounts to the bottom of the speedlight.
