When creating new titles here in Lactora, you may not have a clear idea or understanding of the structure of the title you're going to be creating in advance. Maybe you just have a good idea of what you want it to look like. Well, in that case you might want to create a new title based on a theme. This option gives you a one page title with the set of formatted elements such as a header bar, and you'll see some buttons for example. Of course, the theme can be changed at any time after the fact, but you can start with this theme.
And that's what we're going to look at by going up to the File tab here in Lectora. It doesn't matter what's on your screen right now, when we click on the File tab and then select Create New Title, you'll see Themes is an option. Now these are pre-designed themes that are included with Lectora, so when you click this, over here on the right hand side, you may remember seeing these when you went through the design wizard. First of all, we can choose the size that we'd like to create for our content. It's going to be viewed on PCs and Tablet PCs, that radio button is selected by default.
I'm going to leave it selected and just simply go down now to choose the theme that I want. So again, we can use the scroll bar to scroll down until we see the one we're looking for or at least one that's close to what we want. I want to go this time with Suede Green. As you hover these, you do see the little pop up down below. Now I'm going to click Create from Theme. And my new title will be created by using the theme I just selected, you can see it looks a little bit different. But there is a header, a place for my logo, a place for the title.
Look at the buttons here for home, help and exit. So all of these options are set up for me, but I do have one single page in this title. You can see it over here in my Title Explorer. There it is, page one. Select it. And I can change the page title from here, all of this is set up for me because I chose a theme ahead of time. We'll be talking about choosing different themes a little bit later on. But for now, this is the theme I'm going to work with as I continue creating content here for my new title.
