- Now, the question is how are you going to remember your talk, and the best way to remember your talk is to be cued by your visual aid. So, if you're using Powerpoint, each time you click and another bullet point comes up, that's going to remind you what to say. So, just look at your bullet points, and, by the way, you shouldn't be reading out the bullet points. They shouldn't be great long sentences because the audience don't want you just to read stuff to them. So, the bullets should be one or two short words which remind you what to talk about. So, that's the best way to do it. The second best way is to have notes, probably just a page of A4 large writing that you can either hold, look at occasionally, or you can read it on the table. If you have it on the table in front of you, you can look at it and the audience probably won't even notice it's there. I don't think hiding your notes is that important though.
