Using a master list
- One of the essential tools that you need if you're going to manage your time effectively, is to have a master list. Now this is just a list of everything that you've got to do all written down in one place. And by everything, I mean projects really, I don't mean get up, have breakfast, drive to work. This is kind of a list of the big things that you want to do or you need to do at some point. This list could take the form of a piece of paper, could be on your computer, could be on your phone. I quite like the idea of a mind map actually. And, personally I think it's good if it's on the wall because then you see it everyday. But if you look at your phone everyday, it would be fine for it to be on there. The main thing is to have everything captured on one big list. Then you're not going to forget anything. And then this list can then form the basis of your planning and your prioritizing. It won't take you long to write it either. You can probably write the whole thing in five minutes…
