- An author friend of mine, Evelyn Clark, once told me about a client of hers who had twin six year old boys who'd just started the 1st grade. And as any parent knows, riding a school bus without mom or dad is scary enough for a 1st grader, but finding the way from the classroom to the bus at three o'clock by themselves is even more intimidating. And there's so many buses, and they all look the same. But it got worse for these particular boys. Not long after they'd gotten comfortable with everything, they were told their pickup spot was gonna change. And in the days leading up to the big switch, it became obvious that one of the twins was very concerned, while the other one seemed unaffected. Well apparently the new pickup spot was just outside one boy's classroom. He could see it from the window.
