- On your path to being a more effective leader, there are several next steps you can take immediately. First, conduct a leadership matrix assessment on your team members. You can take the assessment online at leadinsidethebox.com/assessment. The assessment is free, and you can take it as many times as you like. In the assessment, you'll answer questions related to how you're investing your leadership capital in your people through directing, doing, delivering, and developing activities. You'll also assess team member results as far as quality, quantity, timeliness, and intangibles. The assessment will send you a summary report for each team member identifying where they should be placed on the leadership matrix. I'd suggest conducting an assessment for each of your team members, then plotting the entire team on the leadership matrix to see where you need to change your approach.
