Learn how to cultivate the mental agility necessary to innovate, embrace change, and thrive in the face of uncertainty.
- It's no secret we live in a rapidly changing world. You've seen the headlines. Driverless cars. AI. Robots. Virtual reality. Augmented reality. Who knows what's next or how long it'll take to get here? We don't have definitive answers. What we do know is that to quote the author Jenny Blake, if change is the only constant, we'd better get used to it. That's where mental agility fits in. I'm Dorie Clark, author of Standout Networking and Reinventing You.
In this course, we're gonna talk about how we can't afford to keep thinking the same way because that leads us to doing the same things and getting the same results. They may have worked in the past, but it may not be the right recipe for changing times. We have to periodically reevaluate and question and test our assumptions. We have to challenge our ingrained thinking habits to become better and faster problem solvers and decision makers, able to think strategically or tactically depending on what the situation calls for.
Cultivating mental agility takes some effort, but it's worth it because it prepares us not just for what we think will happen, but for anything that could happen. Mental agility enables us to make ourselves indispensable to our companies, help them stay relevant in the marketplace, and in the process, build a great and rewarding career.
