- So, this video is on how to be a great listener and in order to be a great listener, you don't just sit there. You have to actively ask them questions and pull information out of them, active listening, and the best way to do this is to use something called the question funnel. So, what you do, you start with open questions, which could be anything. Like, tell me about your work or what's it like working here? Or something like that. And then you go into the probing stage where you say to them, tell me a bit more about that and so what happened then? Or how did you feel about that? Kind of supplementary questions, they're the most important ones. They're actually the ones where you learn all the really useful information. And then, at the end of the funnel where it narrows right down, there's often a closed question at the end, which would be something like, so do you wanna do something about that or not?
