Interactional fairness

- The world is full of people on a quest for respect and dignity. You see it in the news as people fight for their basic human rights, and you hear about it in the world of employment law as people fight for their rights as an employee. Everyone really and truly just wants to be treated with dignity and respect, and organizations who offer this to their employees will outperform those who do not. This is interactional fairness, which is the degree people perceive they're treated with dignity and respect when decisions are made and things happen. Some organizations just don't even bother. One leader I spoke to really treated employees as a means to an end. He would constantly talk about how the exit door was always open if people didn't like something at work.
