How to coach an employee

- Great leaders don't just mentor their employees, they coach them. As a leader, you need your team to understand their responsibilities, know your expectations, and then fill in the gaps that could prevent them from completing their goals. When you're coaching them, provide actionable feedback and advice using specific examples so they understand how to improve. Both you and your employee should keep notes so that you can track their progress when providing ongoing coaching. The first step to successful coaching is to show that you are confident in your employee's abilities.
