Four types of people
- Now we looked at Maslow earlier, a brilliant theory about motivation, but I think something that Maslow didn't mention and perhaps should have is that peoples personalities vary. So although I think he's right that everybody wants security, everybody wants to be important, etcetera, I think some people have a very different emphasis on those things. Some people are really obsessed by security where other people aren't bothered about that at all, they are much more risk takers. So I think to be a great motivator of people you do need to adapt to the different personalities that you're dealing with. So there are lots of models about personality. The one that I like, nice and simple, it just divides people into four types. I've shown them here on this diagram. You can see that from left to right we've got how outgoing the person is.
