- Think about all the tasks you complete every single day. Do you understand how those tasks are tied to the strategy? There should be daily actions that are taken in support of the strategy. Turn projects and initiatives into weekly, or even daily, work and lay out plans as far as what tasks have to be completed. Then, clearly communicate to the team the expectations of what they should be working on and which tasks should be completed by when. Hold people accountable for meeting those deadlines. Tasks, expectations and accountability turn execution-focused behaviors into norms. Those norms are the foundation of an execution-based culture. Let's look at an example.
