- Whether your habit is to avoid or to be aggressive, habits are ingrained, but habits can be changed when we recognize the power of choice. So let's talk about some new choices to make difficult conversations easier, and hopefully reduce the chances of having them at all. First, you must make a decision to address uncomfortable situations as soon as possible. For example, when your employee clocks in late the second time, bring it up, today. If your coworker embarrasses you in a meeting, question the behavior, today. If you wish the other person would do their fair share, stop hinting and start asking, today.
