Allocating resources

- People are really good about setting priorities, but they're not always good about putting the right resources behind them. Just because initiatives have been prioritized, it doesn't mean the strategy gets executed. Resources must be allocated to the highest priority initiatives. This means not giving resources to low priority work. With focused resource application, high priority initiatives are executed quickly versus applying resources broadly and never completing anything. For my firm, I put resources toward corporate sales and core classroom training programs. I don't dedicate resources to niche classes that aren't going to have a broad audience. We don't do a lot of business to consumer products. And I don't develop and market my own video content. I partner with great organizations instead. It's not top priority for me to do the production and marketing work, but it is top priority to get my content out there. So, my team and I focus on those types of opportunities. Resource…
