Just like a couple of other frameworks—Symfony, for example—there are a couple of ways to install—or to be more precise, get a copy of—Laravel. While there is an installer, you can also fetch a copy from the GitHub repository, or even use Composer to get a copy and start programing with one of the most popular frameworks today.
- [Instructor] Like most frameworks nowadays,…there are a couple of ways to install Laravel.…For now, we'll do the simplest one and use Composer.…Composer is the standard for library handling in PHP…and helps us install dependencies…to our PHP applications.…Nowadays almost every framework relies heavily on Composer,…and Laravel is not the exception.…So my starting point will be the desktop folder.…We're going to download a copy of Laravel…with the following command,…composer create-project --prefer-dist laravel/larvel…and we're going to name our application folder landon_app.…
This will create a folder on our desktop called landon_app.…Okay, now we're going to try our code into visual studio.…Our newly created folder landon_app.…And we're going to start our server…with the following command.…Wait to clear the screen.…Let's switch to our newly created folder…and run our local server, cd landon_app with tab…and we're going to run our command with php artisan serve.…
