Data files: Part 1

- [Instructor] Data files store the information needed to carry out the user program, like the status of inputs and outputs, the processor status, and the status of various bits and numerical data. Status is the on and off type of information represented by one and zero. The files are organized by the type of data they contain. Files number zero through eight are specified data files, and files number nine through 255 are user defined data files. In RSLogix500, the files are placed under the data file section with the same order. Output file zero, this file stores the status of the output module terminals. You see here the output module is placed in slot number three, but the data inside the memory are stored in file zero.
