What you should know

- This course is intended for beginners and does not require any prior programming experience. In fact, it may be easier to grasp some of the concepts here if you're not already familiar with text-based programming languages like Java, Python, MATLAB, or C. And I say this from my own experience learning LabVIEW many years ago, because I had a programming background with C and MATLAB. I struggled to make the mental jump from the sequential line-by-line execution of those text-based languages to the data-flow execution of LabVIEW's graphical programming environment. If you're like me and have a text-based background, I'll do my best to help bridge that gap. In the second half of this course, we'll use LabVIEW for some basic signal processing, so it will help if you have some sort of background in science or engineering. That said, if you're not familiar with those engineering topics, don't worry. You should still be able to follow along and learn about LabVIEW programming without understanding all of the technical details of those applications.
