Spectral Measurements Express VI - LabVIEW Tutorial
From the course: Learning LabVIEW
Spectral Measurements Express VI
- [NARRATOR] In addition to filtering, another common signal processing task is to perform spectral measurements. The Spectral Measurements Express VI can be used to perform a variety of FFT-based measurements on a signal, such as average magnitude, power, and phase spectrums. If those terms sound completely foreign to you, don't worry, they're tools for certain types of applications, and you don't need to understand them to program LabVIEW. To demonstrate spectral measurements, I'll start with a VI that's similar to the previous video. It generates a continuous sin wave between zero and 100 hertz, and I can adjust its frequency using the slider. To insert the Spectral Measurements Express VI, I'll break this wire between the Simulate Signal VI, and the waveform graph, then I'll right-click to open the Functions palette, go to the Express menu, Signal Analysis, and select Spectral Measurements. The dialogue window…
