- [Instructor] After you've acquired a signal and perhaps done some processing on it, you may want to save that data to a file to use again later. The Write to Measurement File Express VI makes it easy to write signal data to several different file formats. LabVIEW supports a text-based file format with the extension .lvm, as well as a binary storage format with the extension .tdm or .tdms. And if you prefer to use classic Excel, you can save your data for it too. The Write to Measurement File Express VI can be found on the Functions palette, Express, Output, Write To Measurement File. The right side of the dialogue window lets you select among four possible file extensions. I'll leave it as the text-based .lvm file for now, and below it are other options you can configure to control segment headers, X-value columns, and delimiters that it uses.
